For scale or guide

How would you write this naturally?
I have my thumb next to it for scale. That way you can see how big the glass really is.

I have my thumb next to it as a guide.
Thanks

"for scale" or "for size"; guide is not wrong though. If needed, words like "thick" or "wide" etc are available for "big". d
