For our songs ...

Hello

Edge: For our songs, you just try and get out of the way, try and figure out the thing that you can do that is going to support the melody and make the song sound as unadulterated as possible. Simplicity is what it is, for me.

--- Does the above mean: Our songs come into live only when you let them for it. They are created spontaneously. We've got to know how not to destroy the melody, but only support it in some way, so that it sounds naturally and clear. Simplicity is very important.

The first sentence of your paraphrase isn't grammatical and I don't really understand what you're trying to say. The rest of it roughly corresponds to the original, but isn't always an exact match in meaning. For our songs, you just try and get out of the way -- means that you try not to be too obtrusive in your musical contributions to the song.

Yes, I agree.

The ungrammatical parts are highlighted: Our songs come into live only when you let them for it. The first obviously should be "come (in)to life. I suppose, looking at it again, that the second must just mean "let
