For or of

I am not sure whether 'of or for' is correct in this sentence as I have seen 'for'. What do you think?

I would like you to explore the new generation of artistic designs 'of or for' women's clothing.

Are both possible maybe?

Thanks!

Yes, either is acceptable. A slight difference however. I would say that "designs of women's clothing" suggests a few particular designs.

I think the slight difference would still exist. However, most readers would not make a distinction between the two statements.

FYI, I have a doctorate in English Literature.
