For now

Hello everyone. I have a couple of questions.

#1 What do you think of this sentence? -- If you leave for now, you will be in time for the bus.

I don't think it is correct. I think you usually say "if you leave now" or "if you leave right now," but never say "if you leave for now." Am I right?

#2 I feel that it's rather difficult to use the expression "for now" correctly. Is it close in meaning to "for a short time" and "for the time being"? In that case, what is the exact meaning of the expression "bye for now"? Does it mean "Goodbye for a short time [for the time being]"? Or is it a fixed phrase which includes a special meaning of "for now"?

I don't think it is correct. I think you usually say "if you leave now" or "if you leave right now," but never say "if you leave for now." Am I right? Yes, if you are talking about the kind of meaning intended in the above sentence. But with the meaning you discuss below, you can say eg Yo
