Please look at the following question.
"Copies of the popular children's book had been placed on bookstore shelves for not ___ several hours when they sold out

The correct answer is (A)quite.
[Q1] As you see that sentence, there are hours,which means we can count the hours. Why can't we use "many" there like "not many several hours"?
[Q2] In the sentence,

Is every phrase of a),b),and c) okay in grammar?
[Q3] I could understand why the questioner wrote like "the popular children's book". Should it be as "children's popular book" or "the popular books of children's"?
