For my present when I arrived

Can one use:
1-I have to remember to thank them for my present in the morning.
instead of:
I have to remember to thank them for the present I received in the morning.
(Presumably they had arranged for it to be given to me.)

Can one use:
2-I have to remember to thank them for my present when I arrived.
instead of:
I have to remember to thank them for the present I received when I arrived.

Gratefully,
Navi.

1) This would be normally be understood to mean that you have to thank them in the morning. I don't think your suggested interpretation is very feasible. 2) Because of the tense, I suppose this would have to be interpreted as you suggest, but it seems an awkward and potentially confusing sentence.
