for making / to make

Dear members

"The materials for making a magazine cost about 200 dollars."

The sentence above is an example one about using "for making" on a text book.
However, should I change the sentenc like this below with "to make" and still similar meaning?

"The materials to make a magazine cost about 200 dollars."

 Thanks

You may. Both sentences are fine.

(However, that seems a little expensive for one magazine. Was the intention 'publish(ing) a magazine'?)
