For lawyers

Hello everyone! Are there any lawyers here? Could anybody help me, please? I work as a translator. In our court system, when you have proceedings going on, you pay something like taxes for the benefit of the country where proceeding are held. Is it the same in other countries? If yes, what do you call this little amount, that you pay to the state for public servise. I hope I managed to make my question clear... Thank you all in advance :-)
