For his being

I'm surprised how can a man so praised for his being so humble in all most every TV show say such things about a profession so respectable.

Is the sentence natural? Does it make sense? Please help me make it natural.

Thanks.

I would like to help, but I can't do that until I understand what you're trying to say.

Is this what you are trying to say?

I'm surprised that a man who is praised by all the pundits on TV for being humble could say such disrespectful things about the teaching profession.
