For him to lose his temper

1-I did something for him to lose his temper.

Does this mean:

a-I did something that made him lose his temper (maybe it was not my intention to make him lose his temper)
or:
b-I did something so that he would lose his temper (that was my intention but maybe he did not lose his temper)
