"for example" or "for examples"

Is it ever proper to start a sentence with "for examples" (plural) as opposed to "for example" (singular), even in cases in which you have more than one example? In other words, is it proper to say "For exampleS, ten thousand cats were spayed and three thousand dogs were neutered."
