For example

Does the highlighted "for example" mean "With Singing Hearts is an example of the paintings that were later created under the influence of the debates around the quality of Linda Kitson's works"?

Context:

The Imperial War Museum commissioned Linda Kitson as its only official war artist to depict this conflict in April 1982. She sailed with the troops on the Queen Elizabeth 2 to San Carlos in the Falkland Islands. She followed the British forces’ advance across the island to Port Stanley and returned to Britain in July. Her over 400 swiftly executed conté-crayon drawings record the soldiers’ behind-the-front experiences, from basic training in the UK to briefing, disembarking, and operating behind the lines. She was usually three or four days behind the action and saw little of the fighting or its consequences.

When the Museum exhibited her sketches shortly after her return, the media criticized the absence of finished canvases. The results of her commission, in the form of sketches on paper, seemed slight for a major campaign that had resulted in a significant loss of life. The criticism
led to a public debate about what war art should be, which widened public appreciation for its variety. The consequences of this debate, in the United Kingdom at least, had profound implications for the quality of the art produced.

Jock McFadyen, for example, painted With Singing Hearts and Throaty Roarings … (1983), which shows a dockyard scene on the return home of the British forces. The assembled group consists of ugly, bull-necked nationalists. The picture indicts the media celebration of victory. War art as we have seen in this chapter and will see in Chapter 7, flourishes in culture of debate, interest, and relevance.

red apple Does the highlighted "for example" mean "With Singing Hearts is an example of the paintings that were later created under the influence of the debates around the quality of Linda Kitson's works"? That does seem to be what she is saying, but I would have expected more of a comment on the "quality" she mentioned. Maybe that comes later.
