Zinkoff is forever asking questions, forever volunteering to answer. For every right answer, five are wrong. The more he gets wrong, the more he wants to answer.

I'd like to make sure of the meaning of the bolded part in the above. Does it mean "he answers six questions on the average, and he gets only one right?" Thanks.
