i am wrting this in my cover letter as the job is required "Fuels/Petroleum knowledge advantageous"

could you please tell me if my English is correct and whether its good enough.

I have gained the knowledge of Fuels/Petroleum through my 4^th year research paper. As I was required to determine the importance of biodegradable carry bags, since the plastic bags are made out of fuels.
