For approval
Can one say
a. I sent the document to him for approval.
b. I sent the document to him for approving.
c. I sent the document to him for signing.
?
I think (a) works but the two others don't. It seems to me that one could say 'to approve' and 'to sign' but one cannot use the gerund here.
Am I correct?
