For a moment/For a short time

Thank you for helping me get out of that fire. For a moment I thought I would die there.

Hi,

Could I replace "For a moment" in the above with "For a short time" without making a change in meaning? Thanks.

Hi, I think the idea will still be clear, but 'for a moment' sounds more natural to me. You can also say 'for a second'.
