Grammar

for a film blog

Is this stated naturally and grammatically, is there better way of saying this?

1. She was the first actress of genre to break through and become famous and acclaimed. Soon actress of her genre, early 20s, blue eyes, comedy playing actresses become the trend and style, and all directors were looking to cast that type of actress. Actresses of that genre kept piling on.
2 I've seen her in 3 movies and she's played differently all 3 times. She's not monotonous actress.

Thank you in advance

Genre is probably the wrong word. It refers to a type of literature (mystery, children's book, romance) not to people. I would say "type" instead.

  • Here is my suggested wording: She was the first actress of her type to break though and become famous.
  • Soon other actress es of her type --early 20s, blue eyed, comedy-playing background--became the trend and every director was looking to cast an actress with that look and background.

Should I say turn onto?

How did you turn yourself onto this actress. She's not famous at all. Who told you about her. How did you come to get to know her.

That’s how I [found out about / learned of] this store. I hadn’t known of it until a friend brought it up in conversation.
