Foot or Feet?

Which one is correct when you are talking about height?

I'm riding horses and I'm usually using 'foot' for the height of the obstacles "she jumped 3 foot 3" etc.

Nobody ever bothered to correct me, but a couple of days ago I heard someone saying "it's a 3 feet 3" and it actually sounded weird.

So I was wondering which one is right in this case?
