Following books that came

Hi Everyone,

What would be the best description of the following sentence:

Harry Potter was mystical, which became huge over the following years that came.

  • was = simple past
  • became = simple past
  • came = simple past

To me, this is a sentence being described in the past with a future slant, that being, 'over the following years'.

I find this sentence a bit tricky to explain.

What do others think?

Thanks,

CC Emotion: thinking

The sentence is odd because poorly formed, Cup cake, so I cannot comment on its description other than recommending serious revision: Harry Potter was mystical, and he became much more so over the coming years.
