Follow-up

Context: Approaching the potential client for the first time.

Since the potential client didn't answer my call, I sent him a follow-up message(the purpose of the call) on Whatsapp.

Can we say this to the manager, who sent me his contact details?

Is follow-up the correct word in the context? or Please suggest any correct adjective.
