Focusing it-clause

as we all know, it-clause can be used to emphasize the information in a sentence.

for example: It is me that stole your money.

Usually what follows it be is a noun, but how about a conjunction?

for example:

They said they dropped in when they were passing, but I think it was because they wanted to watch TV that they came to visit us.

I seldom see such an example of a conjunction following be, is it correct?

Thank you.
