Focus form

In it-cleft structure, the object can be placed in the focus.

ex1) It is novels that they like reading.

Then, reading novels is an object of the verb like.

ex2) It is reading novels that they like.

But I cannot find any source suggesting nonfinite verb forms as an object placed in the focus.

Is ex2 grammatically correct and can I be informed about the source showing such examples?
