Grammar

Florist's, Pharmacist's.

If I were writing:

'I went into the florist's.'
Or
'I went to the pharmacist's.'

Implying that I went into their stores/shops, would it be correct to use an apostrophe?

Top answer

The apostrophe is correct, but for the sake of appearance, I would delete the possessive altogether. I went to the florist/pharmacist.
