flooded

After the tropical storm brought down twenty inches rain, my house was flooded.

One of the rescuers in the middle of the flood was lifted up by the helicopter.

Are they OK?

"After the tropicle storm broguht down twenty inches of rain, my house was flooded. " I added commas to the second sentence because it seemed awkward to me.

I added commas to the second sentence because it seemed awkward to me.

I think you would say he was lifted OUT. That has the sense of removing him from the danger, even though the direction the helicopter traveled was up.

Then would you need to state what they were lifted out of?
