Flexion

Can the word 'flexion' as in flexion of muscles be spelt 'flection' as well?

Second question that came to my mind while writing this question is when I said 'spelt' should I have said 'spelled' instead:

Can the word 'flexion' as in flexion of muscles be spelled 'flection' as well?

OR

Can the word 'flexion' as in flexion of muscles be spelt 'flection' as well?

I believe "spelt" is British, and quite acceptable in these fora. I've never heard "flection," but I'll check. Edit.

I believe "spelt" is British, and quite acceptable in these fora.

I've never heard "flection," but I'll check.

Edit. Farlex lists it as a "variant of flexion." quoting American Heritage.

Yes.

I became PAINFULLY aware of the difference between flexion and extension, BTW, during my recent physical therapy following a knee replacement.
