Flash of

Hi,

1) It sometimes happens that you cannot solve a mathematical problem in an exam and then all of a sudden you know the answer.

Could I use this?

“I sometimes have a flash of insight/knowledge during an exam and I can crack even the most difficult problems.”

2) Could you give my some synonyms for ‘wean off’ (wean sb off junk wood)? I couldn’t find any. (perhaps ‘cut back on junk food’)

Thank you.

Yes, you can use 'flash of' like this. inspiration' but can reasonably be used with other words too. It sounds more sensible with 'insight' than 'knowledge' perhaps, but that may just be me.

You don't need any. That's fine.
