There is nothing more to tell. I cannot make a complete list of all the activities for each sort of person. Here are the dictionary entries:

Athlete: a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill.

Sportsman:
1.

Can I say that?
Athlete is a person who does exercise for contests.
Sportmen are people who do exercise for contests and may not for contests.
Sportman are use to call the amateur sportmen in normal school but athlete are use to call proffessional sportmen like olympics' sportmen.
Many thanks in advance
