Five dollars too few/little

Hi,

"too few" for count nouns
"too little" for non count

But "You gave me five dollars too [little or few]"?

The opposite of that is "5 dollars to many" so it would make sense to say "too few"? What do you think?

Thanks!

MustAsk You gave me five dollars too [little or few] Both are acceptable to my ear. In one case you're thinking of a single amount that you lack, so it's too little ( money). In the other case you're thinking of individual dollars that you lack, so it's too few (dollar bills).
