fitted to me

I heard this.

I went to kimono shop and had a kimono fitted to me.

Is it correct to say 'fitted to me'?

Thanks

If you continue the sentence is it 'to me' 'for me' or something else?

Isn't the point of a kimono that it is worn loosely around the body and is not 'fitted'?
