fit into

Hi,

I can't decide which of the following three options to use in the sentence below:

"The painting is lovely, but I'm afraid it just wouldn't fit / fit in with / fit into my decor."

They all seem fine to me to a certain degree, but I think I prefer "fit into". What do you think? Is one more correct than the others?

Top answer

They sound fine to me, too. I would prefer "fit in with". There is no particular reason, it just sounds more comfortable.
