Fit

Hi.

After :

"...Notice how the knight fits comfortably behind the c-pawn:the two work together to attack Black's center."

What does he mean by 'fit'?

May I replace 'fit comfortably' with 'act hamoniously'?

Thanks in advance

So,May I replace it with 'is placed well'?

Hi,

Notice how the knight is placed well comfortably behind the c-****:the two work together to attack Black's center.

No, the two adverbs together like this are not right.

No, I mean replacing 'fit comfortably' with 'is placed well'.

Hi,

I know that's what you meant, but that's not what you said.

What about
"his knight fits very nicely behind the c5-****."?

Hi,

I suppose so.

But, generally speaking,' nice / nicely' is a bland word that has fewer shades of meaning than the words it can often replace.
