Fish-plural form

I catch a fish in the river.

I catch two fishes ( the same kind ) in the river.

or

I catch two fish ( the same kind ) in the river.

My previous English teacher told me that I must write:I catch two fish ( the same kind ) in the river.

In fact, which one is correct?
