fish meat

Hi,

It is a FAQ kind of question I guess...

(1) My Longman says:
meat = the flesh of animals and birds eaten as food
(2) fish are animals, aren't they?

so the following should sound ok to native English speakers?

"Fish meat is usually much fatter than say buffalo meat"

"meat" is not usually used for fish (it is not impossible though). "fish meat" sounds odd to me.

Thanks, GPY! Emotion: shake hands
How would you recast my 'imperfect' sentence then?

(What if we change "fish meat" to just "fish

I would just say "fish":

"Fish is usually much fatter than, say, buffalo meat."
