I appreciate if you guys make comment and give some advice on my essay.

Do you agree or disagree that Students should take at least a year off to work or travel after high school before they go to study at a university.

There are many controversies over whether students should spend a year getting a job or going travelling after high school graduation. Some people believe that going to college right after high school could do no goods to students. But others think students can gain some considerable benefits from job or travelling experiences. In my opinion, it is beneficial for students to getting a job or travelling before gaining entry into university.

To begin with, job-related experience helps students figure out their true passion before choosing a major to study during a course of college. After high school, some students have no idea what they truly want in their life. Students would possibly waste so much of time if picking a random subject with no understanding and interest of it. To fix this problem, having a year off doing many jobs gives them a chance to discover their strength, weakness and desire so students can make a wise desision about their study at university. Other than that, when it comes to making money, students will have more responsibility and control over their personal finance because they will come to the realization that earning money is not as easy as it seems and learn lessons of expenditure – making contribution to a better life in university time.

Besides, going to work or travelling could sharpen students’s communication skills and self-confidence which is a vital step towards a great academic performance. At university, it is inevitable for students to give many presentations in front of the class.For example, if working as a waiter or waitress, students have an obligation to serve and sastify many types of customers- bringing students the attainment of self-confidence and communication flexibility. Moreover, not only can travelling bring joy to students after the enduring of pressure from long hours of studying and examination but also broaden their knowledge about their surounding world.

In a nut shell, taking a year off going to work or travelling brings several positive influences on students such as passion-discovering, communication improvement and knowledge extension. As such, students will have a happy life and promising career.
