I am doing some study at the moment and I stumbled on this sentence: "The Payload is the bits that get delivered to the end user at the destination".
Can someone please explain to me why "get" is not written in 3rd person (gets)?
Also, is "Payload" the subject and "end user" is the object?
Thank you
The Payload is the bits that get delivered to the end user at the destination". “Get” is “3 rd person plural agreeing with “that” which takes its person-number properties from its antecedent, the plural “bits”, ("bits get delivered" not *"bits gets delivered") Yes, “the payload” is subject, “end user” is object of the preposition “to”.
