First person narritive

I'm doing a first person narritive that expresses the narrarators thoughts. Someone suggested that I use quotes around his thoughts - e.g., "The story," I thought, "was lame." - but I don't think quotes are necessary because nobody is acutally speaking.

No, Amy. I think there is something wrong with my computer, maybe through overworking it.
