First ever essay as a Uni Student!

Hi can someone please help me, I have recently started a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning at the age of 42! I have only ever completed NVQs where you are required to give an answer to straight forward question. I dont know where to start. I need to explore the theoretical background of a particular theory of child development, critically analyse my chosen theory with reference to other key theories within the area of child development. Using a range of literature to critically inform my discussion. (1250 words)

Also I have to reflect on and critically discuss an observation I have undertaken with reference to a specific child or group of children. (I will be doing my observation next week) (800 words).

I have chosen to do Montessori, I have found a little info on Kilpatrick and Dewey that viewed her critcally.

Please can someone help!
