First Draft Done

It's too short, too mechanical, probably too trite, but the first draft of my first feature script is done.
Well, if truth be told, this probably doesn't qualify as a true "first draft" because it's pretty rough, but it is complete and now I'll be editing instead of "creating." (Knowing that the lines are blurred.) I'm not sure if I'll start on that right away or go on to something else first.
I discovered that the preliminary input for a feature script can be done fairly quickly, if you stick to it. I wrote the first eleven pages about six months ago (in one or two days) and started the rest of this on July 11th determined that I would work on it every night.

There's currently only a hundred pages. But I already know that some of my scenes reveal too much too quickly and need a little more foreshadowing. I also know that that some of the dialogue can probably be eliminated so I'm hoping the two will balance out and I'll end up with around a 100 pages. And I may have rushed some of the scenes. I do that sometimes, thinking I'm going on too long so that may bring the count up a little.
The 49 "scene" cards turned into 83 slug lines (so far). I've got 38 characters and 32 "unique" locations although I haven't cleaned up the characters (some have two names) or locations yet so these numbers will go down. (Most of the characters are minor.)

I don't know what any of this really means just information ScriptThing gives me.
I don't know what to think of the script. Tonight I'm fairly happy with it, but the last few nights I've been totally disgusted with how it was coming out. It's definitely not going to go to anyone not even to my brother until I've cleaned it up.
Sorry to ramble.

That's the textbook definition of a "true" first draft. Don't sell yourself short, here, RonB. You've

Yay!
Happy Completion Felictations!!
Excellent!
I always wait a week before doing anything after a milestone draft. Cuz I forget most stuff in a week and I can read it with a fresh brain. Stuff I don't remember writing is usually good and can stay, a lot of cutting which doesn't hurt so much after I've forgotten how long I worked to write it, and "reasonable man" questions

Sounds like a true first draft to me. Well done RonB! I tend to let the screenplay sit for a couple of weeks before I start editing and make changes. But don't leave t
