Hi,

What is the whole sentence, please?

It's not exactly a sentence, it's just an example of someone opening a maths or science lesson at school.

Lesson Number (left)

First an Second lesson(s)

Date (right)

Monday, 25th September 2011

Right, but we're talking about two lessons - the first and the second - , wouldn't it be more correct to write "first and second lessons"?

Acosta,

No, not in that context, it is not plural.

But if you say: "The first two lessons are free..." then is fine.
