"Firmed-up" as an adjective

Hi

Could you please give me an example of firmed -up as an adjective? My dictionaries list the phrase only as a verb.

Are these OK?

She couldn't come up with a firmed-up excuse.
He gave very firmed-up details on the project.
Her opinion was rather firmed-up.
The objection/protest was far from firmed-up.

Thanks,

Tom

Mr. The objection/protest was far from firmed-up. I don't see any of those as good choices; I don't see much need for the adjective, in fact: She couldn't come up with a firm excuse.

  • He gave very firm details on the project.
  • Her opinion was rather firm.
