Now her face was tired, her hair stringy and unkempt. "did you get gas?" She inquired in in a flat, fired voice.
Could anyone please explain what kind of voice "fired voice" is? In the context she is very tired. I think "fired" could be "tired". Is there an expression "fired voice"?
