Fireball

If somebody says "You are a fireball," is this a compliment?
Or, does it have any sarcastic meanings?
Many thanks for your help.

A while ago some one said this to me as a description of my character.
I read an article from one live show, and I came across the same expression.

"She's a fireball. She sort of arrived, and you've never seen somebody with so much energy."
In this case, does the word 'fireball' mean 'energetic'?

It sounds awful! Nobody loves me anymore. Mike doesn't want to talk to me. Why doesn't someone call me "sponge cake" or something softer, sweeter? What have I done to deserve all this? I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I need a shoulder to cry on.

Candy,

The closest expression I have heard that comes close to this is: 'She's a firey one...' meaning she has a temper, albiet with a short fuse.

When referring to an energetic person, you might say 'She's a live one, that one'.

Hope this helps.

PS: If someone called me a cannonball, I would most probably take exception to it, especially if the person was

In Portuguese, if you call a woman a cannonball, you are saying she's ugly as ****!!

Emotion: zip it!
