Fire Wall Protection

Hi

I am Robin. I am doing my first year Computer Science and Engineering. I want to know what is Firewall protection. Can anybody explain this to me?.

The hardware firewalls are most called as "router". This hardware manage a network with the internet, in the simple way. All computers behind a router are invisible from the internet side.
