Fire alarm go off

Hi
''Janet was in the building when she heard the fire alarm go off.''
Shouldn't it be: the fire alarm goes off?
Thanks

Hi Salam,
The pattern to use "hear" is: hear sth./sb. do sth. - it is the infinitive without to.

No, Salam. No "s" form or "ed" form - just the base form - after "hear", "see", etc., the verbs of perception.

I heard the fire alarm go off.
I heard the man approach.
They saw the girl leave the building.
We watched the sun go down.
