Finishing a conversation with clients

Hi,

When a foreign client make an enquiry in English on the phone, what's the usual way to finish the conversation? (excluding"Goodbye etc").

I think of one, but don't know if it is correct----So be it then, I'll have her call you back when she returns. Bye! So be it then, I'll call you back tomorrow.

Please advise if the above "so be it then" is properly used, and if there are better finishing patterns, please kindly tell me.

Thank you!

"So be it then" would be very strange, and depending on the conversation, outright rude. It depends on how the conversation went. " (Pause - answer is "no").

  • Otherwise, it sounds like you're rushing them off the phone.

"So be it then" would be very strange, and depending on the conversation, outright rude.

It depends on how the conversation went.

You can end with "Is there anything else I can help you with?" (Pause - answer is "no"). "Thank you for calling and please let us know if we can assist you with anything else in the future." [If you helped them]

Let the caller say good bye

Oh, I forgot to say, our company produces chemicals, our clients should be in that field, too,so would the suggested answer by you also be applicable to other situations, like our filed?---Your suggestion seems like a sort of finishing pattern used in the service sector. Is that right? Thanks again!

Every situation will be different. Did they call to place an order? With a question about the coccentration? To request that you send them a HazMat sheet? For specifications?

But regardless of whether you sell services or products, your job when answer the phone is to give good service, so asking if there is any other way you can assist them shows your commitment to doing that.
