Finish

Could you check whether both of (A) and (B) sound natural in the follwoing sentence?
Thank you.

Andrea should finish [ (A) the picture / (B) his drawing ] in a week.

Hello, I think B is correct because the definite article "the" in "the picture" means that the one you're speaking to knows already which picture you're talking about,or the picture is already mentioned before. If the picture isn't mentioned before,"B" is more appropriate. I hope a native will answer your question for more details.

You know, 'picture' can also refers to a photo so I thought (A) could sound awkward and (B) might be better. However, now I see that both of them are okay. Thank you for your help making it clear.

"drawing" is narrower than "picture". Unlike "picture", it cannot refer to a photograph or a painting. Typically a drawing is done with a pencil or similar i

Hello,
Thank you for your comment ,but in fact, according to my knowledge, the definite article "the" needs more clarification thus A is eliminated, but you're right in B,we can also ask the question " which drawing".

Thanks

The answer to the question that you originally asked is that both choices are natural and correct. With additional imformation or context the answer might be different.

Your use of spaces around punctuation is usually wrong, and this makes your writing look very messy. Please look again at my comment about spacing
