Fine or Very Good

If somebody says to me, "How are you?", my answer is usually, "Fine, thank you, and you?"
Is it natural to say, "Very good." instead of "Fine" in usual conversation?

" instead of "Fine" in usual conversation? You could say that. As you know, it is less usual than "Fine", but you can say it.

Hi Snappy,

Your reponse should contain an information on how you are doing, i.e. you should
qualify a verb. A verb qualifier is an adverb. The adjective "good" may play a role
of an adverb in colloquial speech, like in "I feel good", while in formal context you
should employ an appropriate adverb like in "I am fine", "I'm doing well", etc. Native
speakers may disagree wit
