Hi

Does anybody know if you can say 'findable' meaning 'something that can be found'?

Kind regards

It's quite correct, but not very common - only 206,000 Google hits - eg., "findable golf *****."

Hi,

Can you give us an example of how you'd use this word? In what context?

Hi, Clive. I was hoping you'd have a look at this one!

Is "findable" in your Canadian Dictionary?

Best regards, - A.

Hi,

No.

But if you said it, I'd probably understand easily.

It's not greatly unusual to 'manufacture' such terms,

eg These cookies are very munch-able.

Thanks for checking.

I'm not sure it would qualify for what MrM would call a "nonce" word, because (I believe) those are of a temporary nature.

If you patent a retrievable golf ball and call it "findable," the term may be around as long as the hulahoop (or it may not).

Gentlemen,

In context it would be, a website that is findable on the internet.

Terrific, ferdis!
My American Heritage is 1981 vintage. The usage panel is a veritable who's who, but they're all dead now. Well, Jacques Barzun is still alive, he turned a hundred last year.
