Find my bearings

Hi,

Can 'find my bearings' be used in this example or is it only appropriate when I'm talking about an actual location?

"I couldn't find my bearings in the test. I didn't know what was what."

Thank you.

Ann225 I couldn't find my bearings in the test. I didn't know what was what. That sounds all right to me, but get my bearings is heard much more frequently than find my bearings .
