Murderers have been seriously punished through history. Therefore, is not it contradictory to kill someone such a punish by assassinating other person?. Death penalty is a way to create justice towards delinquents and has been used by the oldest civilizations like Sumeria until nowadays. This technique should not be used anymore because it is against moral values and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and also it is proved that the countries that use the death penalty do not control more the delinquency than those who do not have it.
First of all, one of the many moral values that the death penalty opposes is tolerance, because when you kill someone you are not tolerating that this person did the crime for what he is condemned and by this reason you do not tolerate that this person lives anymore. Furthermore, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says that every person has the right to live, no matter what he has done, and this is not accomplished.
Secondly, according to the International poll, countries that implement the death penalty like the US (some of its states in this case) or Mexico have even more crimes in the year than those who do not implement it. Psychologists say that the reason of this fact is that when persons are told to not do something, they want to do it more because it is a psychologist fact.
By the clearly opposing to moral values and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the contrary effect made on countries that have the death penalty, it should be forbidden.
